PDQ door closer is a mechanical device that closes a door after it was automatically or manually opened. When choosing  one we should know about closer's performance in fire situations, other criteria may include resistance to opening forces for use by disabled, control over the rate of closing, risk of vandalism, safety, durability, anti-ligature and aesthetics.

There are four styles of interior door-closer which are Surface-mounted, Concealed in frame, Concealed in floor and Concealed in door closers.

Surface-mounted door closers come in four variations like slide-track arm, regular arm surface mounted, parallel arm surface mounted, and top jamb mounted.
